Well balanced movie
I've read a few topics on here with people saying
1 - that the movie wasn't factual
2 - that Jodi was worse in real life
3 - that they made travis out to be a saint
4 - that the movie made travis out to be a jerk
I guess i am making this topic to address everyone who's made one of the above statements.
I think the movie was well balanced and that it wasn't taking any one's side.
I think the movie portrayed both characters to be in the wrong.
I did follow abit of the case and i watched jodi's 48 hours interview and other news stories on it on 20/20, msnbc etc before watching this movie.
The only thing that did strike me about this movie was how they seem to tone down both characters. Again i think this makes it more well balance.
In real life, Travis was contributing more to the unhealthy situation than was was portrayed in the movie. Travis handled the Jodi situation all wrong.
He saw her as a sidepiece, then he started freaking out because she was getting clingy. He should've just moved on and ignored her. I read the txt messages he sent Jodi prior to him being killed and he was calling her evil, a slut, a hoe and a bunch of other things. He was provoking her which was not smart on his part. Then he turned around and slept with her after saying all those mean things knowing full well he didn't want her in his life. He should've never replied to her at all and just ignored her completely.
Anyway I think the movie did a good job in portraying that the story has 2 sides. Even though it left out alot of detail. I think it hinted that Travis wasn't this innocent morman guy his friends/family make out to be in the trial.
