Not as good as "Spotlight On The Troubles: A Secret History" (2019)
I watched both series, and this was nowhere near as good as A Secret History. That was far better, more material, more substance.
This was relying on too many 2023 interviews in 4k / 8k HD, shot in dark rooms with the interviewees facing completely different direction from the camera for dramatic effect. Every new documentary does that now, it's like they have the same producer. They even had the dramatic synths playing during interviews. It's totally unneccesary.
This series sucked. If you want to know about the Troubles, watch "Spotlight On The Troubles: A Secret History". That is the best documentary series on the subject.
This one was came off like every other mediocre Netflix-produced documentary.
Watch Secret History, 7 episodes ,it's on Youtube. This series ain't worth your time.
My ratings of both series:
Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland: 3/10
Spotlight On The Troubles Secret History: 8.5/10
(both are BBC produced)
