That was it? (spoilers)

I really like Zac Levi and Alexis Bladel but I was highly underwhelmed. It was like everything cliche and cheesey they shoved into one movie. I honestly thought Molly was a bit of a mooch that had HORRIBLE money managing skills... and they just got worse when she recieved her inheritence. The whole flower shop thing I don't feel was set up well and the roommate was super annoying. Gus's storyline I was okay with but it annoyed me when people (who knew him personally and his situation) kept ragging on him for forgetting things or asking him about that damn blue diamond, that clearly wouldn't have been tossed carelessly into the back of a drawer. Gus's best friend really annoyed me and the whole lady upstairs falling asleep and forgetting to turn off the tub was just too convenient.

Why did Gus go into the hospital for observations towards the end? Did they say why or skim over that. Not to mention that would've been a decent place to end the movie if they wanted to have a bit of an open ending. And did Molly up and delete herself from Gus's life when she read that he was going to propose?

I don't know why I was actually expecting this Hallmark movie to be more decent than usual, maybe because I KNOW these actors are good at what they do. Honestly I don't blame the actors, they did really well with the script and storyline that they were given.

oh and holey crap Alex Mack...

I believe he went into the hospital because he had an emotional breakdown when his apartment was flooded and all his notes were destroyed. It was a big setback for him because he lost all his records on his previous activities.

Molly deleted the proposal reminder from Gus' computer because after meeting his ex-fiance and learning from the sister that the experimental surgery had already been tried she gave up any hope of having a normal life with him. Since he only "remembers" what he records it probably only took a few days for her to drop off his to-do lists. In the final scene, which was probably many months later, she realized that she still loved him and was willing to accept that he would never really remember her.

I think so too. We also never found out what caused Gus's memory loss. All we know that it was an accident. He was also very freaked out when Molly led him back to the Observatory and was really fidgety about going in. But in the next scene, he was perfectly fine. It just didn't feel complete to me. The premise I like, but the execution was less than stellar.

I couldn't understand why Gus's sister or friend couldn't tell Molly the truth about Gus's condition instead of waiting for Gus to remember to do it himself.

I know he had an aneurysm, but no mention of the cause for it. The only time I've heard of people getting an aneurysm was a hard blow to the head(and no, I'm not confusing it with amnesia). So I was expecting to hear Gus, Jerry or Lucy say that something fell on him in 2009 and that's what cause the aneurysm in his brain.

Bad diet. Guess that's why he jogs so much every morning. I was hoping they would expand a little more on that really. For me, him saying he had an aneurysm wasn't enough. That and he recovered from his freak out a little too easily. But thanks for the answers though.

What I meant was, his bad diet is the reason why he's jogging so much. He's trying to live healthier.

You didn't because you know of the causes of aneurysms. For people like me who didn't know as much about them and wouldn't have bothered to look for more information as I did, would probably want more. For me, additional information can either be a benefit or a detriment to good story writing. Their lack of further explanation to me was a detriment.

However, I still don't think that them not being specific about how his aneurysm formed was troublesome to most people, especially since it can be caused by so many things. I mean, if you didn't know how a character developed leukemia, had a heart attack or a stroke, it wouldn't exactly ruin the story for you.
Well that's a little different. Heart attacks and leukemia are more common illnesses that are mentioned on TV so people are a little more familiar with them and wouldn't ask. Aneurysms on the other hand, aren't mentioned as much unless one watches a medical show. I have heard of it before and I associated it with blunt force trauma or something similar so I was expecting to hear that Gus was trapped in a fire and burning debris fell on him or that an idiot co-worker dropped something on him. I don't know how many other people who know what an aneurysm is other than it being "a brain thing". When it comes to lesser mentioned medical related injuries and the like, I'd like more information.

And I agree about the area displacement thing.

I'd like to hear what you think about Gus's rather quick recovery over his freakout.

And I don't know, I've heard about brain aneurysms quite a bit on tv and whatnot. Not as much as heart attacks, but probably more than leukemia and other illnesses, and aneurysms are quite common.
Really? For me it's usually the other way around. For me, hearing about Gus's aneurysm was the second or maybe even third time I've heard about it on TV.

Anyway though, as for Gus' freak out, I didn't think it was that unusual at all really. When someone forces you to do something, and tells you that they're going to do it whether or not you do it, a lot of people will usually suck it up and do it. Gus didn't want to relive that nightmare of his whole world changing, but Molly was going to go there even if he refused to, so I think it was just that push that he needed.
Sure I'd buy that it was a push that he needed, but I still expected him to be a bit fidgety for a while before finally calming down when he saw his co-workers again.

Gus's hospital stay, I agree with as well. When his sister Lucy said Gus was at the hospital, I was expecting more of what we saw earlier in the movie. I didn't expect to see him in a room with a bed and all that.

If I remember correctly, the two main characters were sitting in front of a fire in his living room. I believe he told her he was working on his "theory" paper when he got sick, then left California. Too much stress. Later his friends at Mount Wilson confirmed he was under a lot of stress and didn't know he'd completed documenting his theory until she sent them his papers.

I agree about his friends being a bit mean to him about his memory loss!
When compared to '50 first dates' where everyone did everything in their power to help her (rightly or wrongly), zachs character had to do it all himself.
He was keeping it from his gf rather than the other way round in ffd.
I felt it would have been a terrible strain on him if this were real!
