Boyle and McGregor... why haven't they
... done a Bond movie? Serious question. Like has it been reported that either or both have turned down James Bond? I ask because they both seem perfect for the series.
shareI believe Boyle's name came up to direct when Sam Mendes wasn't going to return for the Bond movie that became Spectre. While promoting Trance, I think Boyle said something along the lines of he was reluctant to work with big budgets (After seeing what happened to The Beach, I can't really blame him). He did, however, direct the Bond short film during his turn directing the Opening Ceremonies to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London in which the Daniel Craig Bond escorts the Queen to the stadium

Bond needs a lower budget anyway. MGM should go after him.
MGM, lower the damned budget and go get Boyle and McGregor! If Boyle doesn't feel like doing more than one Bond, get Alex Garland for the next.
I didn't watch those ceremonies. I'll look up the video.
