... but the release date says "2017", original came out in 1996. Well according to my calculations that's 21 years!! Absolute stinker of a mistake I predict a massive flop. I will be boycotting for sure.

Trainspotting was filmed in 95 and 96 and released in 96....
Film was released in 1996, book in 1993, but the story was set in the late 80s, and I thought the film felt like it was set in the 80s too, although I don't think there was any specific reference to date in it.
