And has the world and it's drug use gotten any better or worse since then? Today I'd say NO, tomorrow I could say YES. And the beauty of Trainspotting's ending was hope. But to take fans and viewers back to that 20 years later and insult them with 'whatever hope you had for these characters, forget it! They're older, you're older, here's the bow on top of it all, and you can go to your grave now with a smile and $15 poorer'. And 'T2' at that - marketing thought it would be a good idea to dupe fans of the Terminator series into checking this out as well? Focus groups showed more favor to T2 than the title 'Old Junkies Die Hard' because Bruce Willis isn't as popular anymore? Trainspotting was a small movie that had 'umph' and spirit to it. To capitalize on the history and spectacle of these characters now, good bad, or otherwise...? Jesus, it's *beep* embarrassing!
