I liked it alot though it was never going to have the same impact as the first film.
It started very melancholic but it was great to catch up with these characters. The narrative kind of felt slight, punctuated by moments of stylistic and inspired brilliance. Renton's new "Choose Life" speech was profoundly brilliant. A lot of credit goes to Hodge who (just like the first film) manages to humanise Welsh's deeply cynical, mean-spirited and desperate-to-shock prose.
This is in contrast to the novel 'Porno' which I found annoying and stupid. I'm so glad very little was transposed to this film
