The occasional very strong Scottish accents might make it difficult to understand if viewed outside UK.
However might also lead to an OSCAR nomination for “Best film in a foreign language” category! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)
I read a clockwork orange before trainspotting and the language used in that was by far and away easier to deduce than the language used by Welsh, and I am 3/4 Scottish. My grandmother would've called them common muck lol
shareLol just because you're 3 quarters Scottish doesn't mean you should be fluent in their language. My parents could be from Boston, doesn't mean I'll learn their slang.
shareWhen did I say I shold be fluent in Scottish slang? I said my family are from Scotland and I grew up with Scottish people around me. When this happens you grow accustomed to it. Very much like a child who is brought up with parents who are say French and English the child will be bilingual. You learn from them. only difference is my family werent from a chavvy council area and hence spoke properly. kapeesh.
