OSCAR? - "Best Foreign Language"

The occasional very strong Scottish accents might make it difficult to understand if viewed outside UK.

However might also lead to an OSCAR nomination for “Best film in a foreign language” category! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

I read a clockwork orange before trainspotting and the language used in that was by far and away easier to deduce than the language used by Welsh, and I am 3/4 Scottish. My grandmother would've called them common muck lol

reply

I'd put grandma in a headlock for speaking like that!

reply

It's true lol. They are on par with Jeremy Kyle guests.

reply

Lol just because you're 3 quarters Scottish doesn't mean you should be fluent in their language. My parents could be from Boston, doesn't mean I'll learn their slang.

When did I say I shold be fluent in Scottish slang? I said my family are from Scotland and I grew up with Scottish people around me. When this happens you grow accustomed to it. Very much like a child who is brought up with parents who are say French and English the child will be bilingual. You learn from them. only difference is my family werent from a chavvy council area and hence spoke properly. kapeesh.
