The Money

In T1 the money is already dirty, and not very much anyway; it is not missed. But the ending of T2 leaves a massive plot hole. What happened after the end about the missing £100K EU grant. We know it was stolen by Veronika, but wasn't it missed? If I was handing out grants like this I would want to see the results. Were there no commissioners coming around for an artisinal pint?

If Renton and Sickboy reported the fraud, where they not believed? It might not be possible to prove their signatures were forged but Veronika skipping town could be. She would have had a mobile phone contract and other documentation that she was in the country. And Bulgaria is still in the EU, its not like she went to Nigeria. The money transfer happened, no body asked why?

reply

Not much about the money thing made sense.

Spud betrayed his lifelong (and only) mates for a virtual stranger who wanted to pinch their money?

The guys spent 20 years grieving over a stolen £4000, but seemingly they couldn't care less about £100,000?

reply

Spud gave the money away as he knew it would destory Mark and Simon's friendship and it was better to give it to someone with a child then to two ex junkies who have just reconciled their friendship.

reply

This. Plus he thought his ex-partner and her lad would get some. But we don't know if that happened.

reply

Spud wanted to help his son the only way he could. Simples, likesay.

Rents and Sickboy would probably have admired the stitch up begrudgingly.

reply

I think it is a bit of a plot hole to be honest. I understand that she stole it and Spud helped because he knew both Renton and Sickboy were going to try and betray the other one etc but surely the people who gave the grant would be checking the progress to see where the money went?
