Choose life, Choose a better film in the cinema

Theres plenty at the moment, Moonlight, Lion, Split, Lego Batman, Hacksaw Ridge. Even watch Rogue one again!

Yes the editing and camera work is very good and stylish. (cant get enough of Danny Boyles tilted camera shots) but this film is poor. Story is laughably weak and had nothing new to offer despite throwing a young eastern european girl into the mix.
At least the David Brent film took him on a road trip with a band, which on paper is a new and fresh idea for that character.

I should have gone to see Lego Batman as this would have probably been darker and more tense.

I'm glad that boards are being taken fiwn

I'm glad the IMDb boards are being taking down, because of people like you.

I'm not trolling, its just a mediocre film, to quote one critic, 'its like a britpop band that gets back together after years, its good to see them back but they bring nothing new'

or something along those lines.

and hey! gotta make the most of the boards till the 20th! 😜

I watch the trailer and cringe. Why spoil the original's legacy with this rancid nostalgia trip.

Why would someone old enough to watch this want to watch a kiddie's movie like Lego Batman?

Dark knight fans thirsty for another one! 😉

I agree with OP. It looks amazing, and at times hilarious but oddly baggy (maybe a middle age metaphor?) and some subplots don't really go anywhere. I felt it should have been 90 minutes like the original, rather than nearly 2 hours.

I felt it was trying to be a bit too meta at times and because of some questionable editing with the pace/structure became a bit of a 'so what was the ultimate point of all that?' by the end.

For example Spud starts writing his thoughts and stories, despite not being confident or implied as a great story teller at any point in the series, then about 10+ minutes later Veronica says 'Your stories are really interesting, you should write them down' and Spud has a lightbulb moment... but he'd already had that realisation earlier.

A quality production, but another retro movie that was somewhat forgettable...

"What are you, some kind of doomsday machine, boy?"

its actually better 2nd and 3rd time, its quite a bit to take in first time.

That end Vader scene though. (fire emoji)
