As of now
this film has a rating of 10 on IMDb! I've never seen this before. It's giving me great expectations of the film.

Yes I've noticed. I suspect that the voting is troll voting as this film is not on general release and yet a lot of American IMDb users have voted and their overall score is significantly lower than non-American users. Anyway 9.9 is still phenomenal. It will decrease, for legitimate reasons, once the film is released.

Ssssh..... am from usa and i have to decrease the rating by give it . Craps
shareYeah, I remember I was astounded by seeing the movie racking this kind of score in just a few days well before it opened anywhere. And on a total number of over 1000 votes. Now, even admitting that some had seen it at Cannes or attended a few previews, the numbers still seemed too big (it would also imply that every last one of these people had an account on this site). I also noticed that tons of promotional photos of the sublime Melisa Sözen showed up on her page just after the film won the Golden Palm, which didn't appear to be a coincidence.
Said that, many of the early votes might have come from people that were either biased or connected to the film, but it totally deserves a perfect 10/10 rating! Seriously, savouring this movie is the kind of experience that can be compared to have a taste of Sokurov's Faust: they're much more than treasures of cinema, they're veritable treasures of the spirit. This film's dialogue, scenery, acting and atmosphere are pure poetry. And despite their intelllectual depth, the conversations between the charavters manage to feel so authentic at the same time; it's just so incredible.
For two consecutive years the Golden Palm winner ('Amour' and 'La Vie d'Adèle') went on to be my choice for the film of the year and- although it may be my #2# of 2014 because Petzold's 'Phoenix' holds me in its spell- 'Winter Sleep' is an equally inspired choice. Hope it cleans the EFAs.
