Terrible Subtitle Translation

Anyone else find the subtitle translation extremely distracting? Whoever did this has a really poor command of the English language. For example, "him" or "her" was usually replaced with "it". Even the few bits of dialogue in English (e.g. the Asian guest at the hotel) the subtitles were still completely off from English to English! Is it that hard to find someone who can translate Turkish to English? It's hard to appreciate a "masterpiece" when the characters sound stupid because the translation was so off.

Hmmmm something makes me think your not exactly watching a legal copy of the film.

This is what you get with downloaded films somtimes.... the subtitles your using were made by google translate you will find, I believe from the French version.

I tried to see it at TIFF, it was sold out and only had 2 small screenings, when other films had as many as 4, which was weird for a Palme winner which obviously a lot of people wanted to see. Will give it another shot when a proper version is out.

I have an original copy of the film, and the subs are perfectly translated. The film came out about two weeks ago here in Turkey.

You've been watching an internet copy with machine subs. In the cinema the subtitles are fine.
