Why did Dylan drink the drugged soda Zach gave to him?

I really liked the movie, and I'm glad that there's a horror-sequel which actually continues the story from the first movie. (If you know more horror/thriller movies with enjoyable sequels, feel free to share them with me)
However, there's one thing I noticed that made me think - Dylan and Zach both knew everything about the movies and what the other children did to their families. And when Zach started to make his own movie at their father's house, Dylan saw him with the camera. He also looked down on his glas Zach had given him, knowing that it was drugged. So, why did he drink it? Had he already started to drink before he saw the camera? Maybe it is just me who missed something, but it would be fun to hear what you guys thought of it.

Robert Sloan who plays Dylan said on his Twitter that Dylan drunk from the glass before he looked down and when he looked down and realized they've been drugged it was already too late, that's when he texted deputy so and so for help.

Started to think what I would do if I were in his place. Vomit?! Not sure how fast the ghostdrug works though..

I thought he texted "help us" because he saw the movie camera??
