an inherent problem

I've read the novellas, and it seems they all take place close together. Egg is small and young. HBO, especially with these kinds of shows, is not unknown to take a couple years between seasons. By Season 3, the actor playing Egg will be 16 and have had multiple growth spurts and a voice change and the start of facial hair. Maybe they should just recast every season with a new actor of similar physical features (easy enough to achieve considering he'll be bald). So the casting could be part of the excitement. After all, they didn't mind recasting in Game of Thrones, and certainly not in House of the Dragon, where it happens every few episodes, just when you're starting to keep track of who's who.

Another thing that makes me worry a little. These stories are rather light reads, at least in comparison to the A Song of Ice and Fire novels and Fire & Blood. They don't need to do ten hour-long episodes for each story. Honestly I feel like 5 or 6 episodes of 30-40 minutes would be suitable.

Good ideas
You mentioned the stories are light reads,
Do you know if there will be 3+ seasons worth of story here?
Maybe they don't even plan on making that much of it.
I've only seen all of GoT, HotD, and read F&B, currently reading Book one of ASOIAF.
So I'm unfamiliar with these characters

There's three seasons if they keep each one around 6 episodes instead of trying to stretch it out, but HBO prefers condensed seasons anyway
