Great idea but why the comedy?

It doesn't say it's a comedy horror but it is. It's what ruins the movie. That and the rigid house setting.

It kinda gets boring as they run from room to room getting killed off. This movie is so predicable.

The only thing that kept me watching was the performance of the little girl vampire. I thought she did a good job, considering she was about 12 years old.

In my view it was she who held this movie together.

The dialogue sucks too. Such a wasted opportunity.

The movie is a decent horror-comedy---it being a comedy did not "ruin" it. Some parts were funny, some weren't. And, yeah, the young actress playing the ballerina vampire was pretty good---she's actually 14 in real life. The whole cast was pretty good, too.

BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME...HORROR/COMEDY IS THE ULTIMATE GENRE....I DUG ABIGAIL...SOLID ENTERTAINMENT.

Ok dude we get it, no need to scream, did you grow on a barn or something?

And then there were more… non-fans. Naturally.

Well simply put, because they wanted the comedy in this very bloody vampire film. Besides, the directors of this film are known for their (generally well-received) blend of horror & comedy and it’s a big reason they were brought on to direct the 5th Scream film and the subsequent 6th installment (their awesome film “Ready or Not” alone made them suitable for the job). And they might have their critics (as all things do especially these days), but yes many believe they did a good job with those Ghostface films and now they’ve once again hit it out of the park with their “Dracula’s Daughter” film.

Ruined it actually? Predictable? (Ey, predictable they keep saying.) Wasted opportunity and not good overall? Oh. Well fortunately I’m with the many more impressed viewers and for good reasons (its overall reception? Oh yeah). Killer film! End of

This is not a comedy horror at all. I don't even understand why you're saying that.

It's a horror movie with some funny parts like the 1000000 other horror movies out there.

reply

I just think they were incapable of making it an all out horror movie.

They couldn't maintain the fear so they thought they'd put some 'jokes' in.

It didn't work for me.

reply

I didn't even see that many jokes.

It was like any other horror movie out there.

Comedy is common in horror movies. Look at the famous horror movies from the 80s/90s for example. Heck, franchiles like nightmare on elm street or hellraiser were built on comedy and oneliners.

reply

Ha, there's almost 0 comedy in the original Nightmare (sequels of course turned Freddy into a cartoon), and about 0 in the entire Hellraiser franchise.
