Did we not learn our lesson with Lost?

They're tedious. Either tell your story (and make it interesting) or piss off.

I do not care that blah blah character lost her son. I just don't care.

Otherwise, the show is... intriguing (the plot twist). But if they drag this mystery out, I'm quitting.

It’s just filler. I think there’s a bunch of more compelling factors when it comes to how many episodes of a show will be produced, most of them financial.

When the screenplay doesn’t have enough material for its format, flashbacks are a low effort way to bulk it out. I keep waiting for them to just cut in scenes from other movies.
