If Josh gets his head crushed or taken back to the mines?

If you find Hannah's journal as Sam and Mike, shortly before finding him. It's off to the left after you get in the water.

Oh ok. I read the journal. His head was not crushed. What an awesome game!

You have to find Hannah's journal in the room with the water and then read all the pages. Make sure you grab it before you open the door to exit the room. Opening the door activiates the butterfly effect, and you can't go back to get it.
