Until Dawn 2? It can't have the same characters in it.

I think that if they make an Until Dawn 2, it obviously can't have the same characters and setting because of the open ended aspect of the game, so hopefully they dont stck with the whole Wendigo thing. Hopefully they have something completely different.

Idea: Set the game in the geographically isolated logging towns up in Northern Washington state or Alaska and have the creature be Werewolves or something similar. They can still keep the Native American, "sacred ground" angle on it. The final climax can take place in an abandoned logging mill. Those places are creepy even when they are open.

Supermassive games already said "it can't be the same characters" which makes sense. Obviously some people only play the game through once and if certain characters die then it wouldn't make sense in the sequel.

Personally I'd have Sam be a main character in the sequel and hint by her dialogue that at least one other person survived.

I'd have her be an adult investigator of supernatural stuff dealing with ancient lore. She'd be carving totems for protection etc.

"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".

Of course it has to be new character's; maybe it can happen in same world as the first with some character related but whatever, it has to be fresh setting! But I hope its again set in an isolated beautiful abandoned places, maybe a castle?

Perhaps the second one could take place before the first game and have cameo appearances of the original characters.

Next one should take place on an island..

This is what I was thinking... An Island, Maybe the Caribbean. The setting alone would be really unique... A paradise with palm trees, moonlight on the ocean, undersea caves with a pirate ship inside like The Goonies! And frickin VOODOO stuff!

Hawaii could work too.

He can get the job but can he do the job? Im not arguing that with you. Im not arguing that with you

What I always thought would be cool is a game similar to the movie house on haunted hill. Play as different characters trying to survive a night trapped inside a huge asylum\mansion considering they used an asylum in until dawn.

Just like the first one have anyone die & anyone live but make it a little more difficult for the characters to survive & the same amount of play time for each character.

Like others posted, I actually like the idea of setting it on an island. Graphically, it would be a step up from Until Dawn which was already impressive (bigger budget, more locations & better color palette) and if they could come up with an interesting story involving the land, it would already have an intriguing promise.

My only concerns would be how they would make it scary along with how they plan to present the game. Would this one actually take itself serious as a horror game or would it be a parody like the first?

I like it when games in a series are connected to each other in some way.

So, with that in mind, I'd like to see them stay in the area of the Blackwood mountains. Mountains are big, so it's possible that there are more locations around these mountains dealing with their own folklores come to life. For example, a small isolated fishing town. It'd be one of those towns where everyone knows everyone.

Maybe also stick with the Native American folklores. Instead of Wendigos, this time around it could be Skin-walkers & witchcraft. One of the locations a character has to explore could be an old cathedral and secret tunnels that run under the town. There could be a maze-like cemetery. There could also be remnants of a puritan colony hidden in the mountains.

Instead of the story revolving around just a handful of people alone on vacation, maybe this one could deal with a community. While we'd still only take control of eight characters throughout the game, the consequences of some of our choices could effect more lives.
