Say this is an anthology type game series and its a new cast and slasher setting/story each time. Minus Summer camp (seems that just seems like an obvious generic one) what would you want the next game to be?
I think a texas chainsaw/ abandoned creepy town type game would work. A group of college students passing through and end up having to fend themselves from creepy villagers in some southern town in the middle of nowhere. Just an idea that popped into my head.
I care more about having a wider variety of choices with impact rather than a super predetermined plot (better characters would help too.... At least no Emily's...) That said, I'd be fine with your idea. I don't see many beach settings for slashers, so that could be cool too
As someone who likes bitchy girls in horror, she was really annoying. I'd have liked her if she developed like Mike or Jess (being entertaining would've helped too), but nope.
I considered a jungle type thing linked on. I didn't have a super fleshed out thought. Just noticed that we have very few slashers on beaches
That's literally her one amusing moment. Most of her bitchiness doesn't even make sense. Calling Matt a big stupid worthless idiot when he's trying to save her life? I mean.... Not to mentioning whining about how he doesn't trust her (if Matt offers to go back and help her get her briefcase) right before.... She runs off to cheat with Mike is inhumanly obnoxious. Even by mean girl standings. Really wish her and Jess swapped role sizes
who were your favs? And your setting was good. As said, I'm more invested in choices mattering more. Though at least these ones mattered some (f-ck Telltale)
Emily was meant to be over the top and ridiculous, that's why I found her hilarious. It's not meant to be taken seriously.
I liked Josh, Sam, Emily, and Chris the most.
I'm conflicted on Mike, He was the stereotype that I dislike the most (In movies and in real life). He gets better but, meh. Just not a fan of that type of person. Thought he could be an ass.
Ashley to me was annoying and Matt was nice but boring. Ashley could be the worst of them all if you get the one where she lets Chris just die. That was evil lol.
(I agree about more choices, also not forcing some characters to be safe until the end (Sam and Mike). Make it more unpredictable.

Considering the game is completely serious and NOT campy.... no, she wasn't. You're also meant to want to save these characters, but Emily is given absolutely no redeeming qualities as a person. She's such a caricature. It's awful writing.
With you on Chris and Josh, Sam is likeable but not great. I'd put my top 4 as Mike > Chris > Josh > Jess > Rest.
I'm conflicted on Mike, He was the stereotype that I dislike the most (In movies and in real life). He gets better but, meh. Just not a fan of that type of person. Thought he could be an ass.
Literally how on earth can you possibly tolerate Emily? She's a worse person than he is. And more obnoxious. And more of a bitch than he is an ass. And actually evil. And more involved in the prank. And felt less remorse than the prank. I mean, I get not liking douchey jock types, but all the criticism for Mike only seems to get applied one way which is what's baffling.
Ashley could be the worst of them all if you get the one where she lets Chris just die. That was evil lol.
Emily tries to kill Ash. So the latter isn't alone here. But yeah, that scene was more than a bit of an issue for me.
Lol this game was meant to be a love letter for campy slasher horror games, It IS campy. All of the characters are based off of stereotype/caricatures. I wanted to save her so... And she actually has a pretty good handfull of people that did like her and find her amusing.
I like emily over Mike cause I found her more entertaining, Mike just came off as a dick to me. Emily was bitchy, but I didn't think either was a genuinly horrible person.
Emily never tried to kill Ash when I watched so in my version I guess she wasn't 'evil'.

The game's tone is DEAD serious with a little humor. You're not meant to be laughing when Em's holding on for dear life. And they're all based on slasher archetypes, but Emily actually makes the archetypes look multilayered.
I wanted to save her so... And she actually has a pretty good handfull of people that did like her and find her amusing.
Only for being inumanly bitchy because apparently that's an endearing trait now. Were you shortchanged when madison died in MSPS16 too?
I like emily over Mike cause I found her more entertaining, Mike just came off as a dick to me. Emily was bitchy, but I didn't think either was a genuinly horrible person.
Fair enough on entertaining, though nothing she said made me laugh as much as "OHMYGAAAWHD WE'RE TOTALLY GONNA MAKE OUT." But if we're hating on Mike for being a sh-t person, which was your main basis, Em is still worse. And Em was definitely a horrible person.

IF Em slaps Ash, she tries to kill her at the end (shovimng her towards the WEndigos at the end)
Campy doesn't really mean comedy, it means over the top/satirical which this game was of the slasher genre, as were the characters. The game was inspired by campy slashers. It was dark but definitely campy.
I have no idea who Madison is or what game you're referencing.
I seem to remember her just shoving her out of the way cause Em was running, guess I don't remember it right or at all lol. But Ashley did try to get emily shot in the face so..come on lol.
What it comes down to is I just don't find Mike appealing, some people just don't like certain types and his type is one im not a fan of. I didn't hate him, but he's definitely toward the middle or bottom for me.
Errr... yes it does. And all the other characters have multiple layers
I have no idea who Madison is or what game you're referencing.
Movie, My Super Psycho Sweet 16.
I seem to remember her just shoving her out of the way cause Em was running, guess I don't remember it right or at all lol. But Ashley did try to get emily shot in the face so..come on lol.
Because she was worried Emily would go all Wendigo on them. Not right, but kinda different then "I dont like you so excuse me while I attempt to murder you."
What it comes down to is I just don't find Mike appealing, some people just don't like certain types and his type is one im not a fan of.
Yes, because he's a douche... but then Emily gets a pass for being an even BIGGER bitch? It's one thing to not like the mean characters, but this just seems confusingly inconsistent
Campy refers to intentionally exaggerated thematic or genre elements, which is what this game was, exaggerating and satirizing horror cliches.
In my walk through Emily never tried to murder her so in my specific one I can say that she is not evil, and I can find her more likable than Mike.
I can't really explain it, some people just naturally don't like some people. I just don't find Mike likable. Obviously if I were to rank them among who is a better/kinder human being than Mike might place higher, that doesn't mean I have to like or enjoy his character more.
Maybe this example will work, In mean girls I like Regina better than Karen. Karen is obviously somewhat nicer and a better person, But I enjoy Regins character more. She is funnier, and more entertaining, there fore I would say I like her more.
Yeah, I loved the setting in this one. I think the walk with Jessica and Mike to the cabin was some of the prettiest graphics and settings ever. Would be hard to top it, but I'm sure there is something they can do to match it.
I like it when the games in a series are linked in some way, even if they have two different stories.
With that being said, I'd like to see them stay around the Blackwood mountains. Mountains are vast, so maybe there's a small fishing town located somewhere along the mountain base. One of the characters could come across a months old news article or something that talks about "an explosion in the mountains.", or "Washington estate goes up in flames."
The story here could center around a group of college students returning home for the summer (perhaps it's the summer right after the events from the 1st), and they arrive to find something of a ghost town. So they're tasked with trying to figure out what's going on and where is everyone; all while avoiding death, whether it's by accident or by a mysterious force that seems to have plagued the town.
I'd also stick with the Native American aspect. The 1st game used the legend of the Wendigo, maybe in this one it could switch over to that of the Skin-walker, which is a witch with the ability to transform into an animal. (The warning sign in the mountains mentioned wolves, deer, and bears; but as far as I can remember, we never actually came across a live bear in the game.) This would also let us keep the use of the totem pole fragments.
Similar to how the 1st game had us explore an old abandoned Sanatorium from the 50's, maybe there could be remnants of an old Puritan colony including a cathedral that still stands near the town but set a little deeper in the woods of the mountain. Maybe there's also a secret tunnel that runs under the town up to the cathedral.
It could also be fun, in terms of connectivity, if one of the characters were to be related to either one of the miners or sanatorium staff mentioned by name in the 1st game.
I kinda like your idea, and it makes sense seems they like to play with the whole Indian mythology. My only thing is I wouldn't want it to take place at blackwood mountain, I would prefer a different location and maybe have Easter eggs here and their about the first game.
The only problem I see with moving too far away from the mountains, is that it'd be harder to have those little connective threads and not have it feel forced or out of place. Which is fine, if the idea is to make Until Dawn a standard anthology series.
I was thinking about how they couldn't use any of the characters from the 1st game, because of the fact that they can all die; but I realized that there is ONE character that could be used as the only link between games. And that would be Dr. Hill.
So they could do a totally different location using elements from another culture's mythology while having Dr. Hill, whom I'm assuming was Josh's real psychologist and not just the voice inside his head, taking on the role of the psychologist to another character; OR maybe Dr. Hill could become one of the kill-able characters next time around.
