Summary of my first playthrough

My first playthrough was the what I would do playthrough, which is really easy because it's just my own instinctive decision each time. Please don't spoil in your responses, or tag at least please.

So..

Ashley - Killed 6am-7am
- Chris chose to save her instead of Josh; Josh was cut in half through the waist
- Chris chose to shoot Ashley instead of himself because both a Guidance Totem and Ashley herself advised him to
- Ashley died when Sam incinerated the cabin in the last hour

Chris - Killed 3am-4am
- Chose to kill Josh instead of Ashley
- Chose to shoot Ashley instead, only because she pleaded him to and a Totem advised him to
- Went out to get Josh with Mr. Flamethrower, Josh was gone. Could not stay still, Mr. Flamethrower got his head cut off by Wendigo. Chris ran, banged his head on a tree, and made it to the cabin door just in time. However Ashley would not let Chris in, because of what he did earlier. Chris' head was tore off by Wendigo.

Emily - Survived
- She went into the Fire Tower with Matt. It was cut down (still don't know who did that, Josh going way too far there? Mr. Flamethrower who is supposed to be good.. probably Wendigos then I suppose).
- Matt tried to help Emily up but she fell into the mine with the tower
- She had this epic isolated exploration, discovery and survival against odds journey in the mines which made me go from not liking her at all to respecting her as a great survivalist and rooting for her. Found Beths' grave and head, Hannahs' day count and glasses. She met Mr. Flamethrower down there, was rescued by him. Did a lot of impressive running and jumping to escape. She was bitten.
- Ultimately she sneaked out of the cabin before Sam even made a decision at the end. Very self preservation.

Jess - Killed 6am-7am
- Dragged out of summer cabin window by Wendigo; abducted
- Mike found her and was about to help her when she dropped down on the elevator
- Hours later she turned up alive in the mine and bumped into Matt
- Chased by Wendigos; Jess was caught and had he throat ripped open

Josh - Survived as a Wendigo
- Staged the whole serial killer/real life slasher movie scenario in the earlier hours. He was Clown Mask.
- Forced Chris to choose between himself and Ashley; faked his own death.
- Forced Chris to choose to save himself or Ashley, afterwards revealed himself as Clown Mask.
- Tied by Mike and Chris; was gone when Chris and Mr. Flamethrower returned for him.
- Found by Mike and Sam in the mine, Mike was leading Josh out of the mine when Josh was abducted by his Wendigo sister Hannah.
- Living as a Wendigo at the end.

Matt - Survived
- After being separated from Emily after the tower fell, their journeys to survival were very different in that Emily went through loads of $hit to survive while Matt barely did anything haha.
- He turned up in the mine a good while after the tower fell, and bumped into Jess.
- A wendigo chased them. Matt chose running instead of hiding (I believe in keep going forward, keep going.. not hiding as that may as well just be waiting. Sometimes my decision to keep going cost lives).
- Jess couldn't keep up and was killed.
- Matt chose to break through the wooden pannels to escape thanks to the advice of a Fortune Totem which foreshadowed Matt stood outside while Wendigos could be heard inside. Him holding a lantern is what made me realise this was that moment.
- Matt survived.

Mike - Killed 6am-7am
- Didn't make it under the sliding door in time when trying to get to Jess after she had fallen down on the elevator; maybe this cost Jess her life.
- Ended up in the Sanitorium, where he made a wolf friend who I called Wolfie, and learnt loads about the miners conspiracy.
- Cut off his own fingers with machete to escape a bear trap.
- Made it back to the cabin to witness Josh unmasking, then helping tie him up.
- Made the decision not to shoot Emily in the Wendigo bite paranoia by the guidance of a Fortune Totem.
- Went back to Sanatorium later to try and find Josh/Cablecar keys after he had disappeared; met Wolfie again, outran and fought off loads of Wendigos. Wolfie sacrificed himself so Mike could live.
- At the cabin, surrounded by Wendigos, he broke a lightbulb so the gas could be ignited if the light switch was turned on. Heroically died in the cabin explosion.

Sam - Survived
- Didn't do much to start with, other than outrunning Clown Mask which was only Josh anyway. Except, getting caught by him and gassed and tied up, then freed by Machete Mike.
- Later saved Mike from having his face slashed by charred Wendigo, with the guidance of a Danger Totem.
- Ultimately decided to burn the cabin down with Mike and Ashley inside (hoping they could make it out by jumping out the door and window respectively) and escaped just in time, forever wondering what would've happened if she had saved Mike (maybe they both die but Ashley made it but don't tell me!).

So a succinct summary of the kinda' role they all ended up taking on..
- Ashley - Weak bookish girl who needs rescuing a lot. Bitter about a guy who was going to let her die, lets him die out of spite. Pays the price for doing the wrong thing with her life.
- Chris - Nerdy guy who is protective of a special girl, tries to do the right thing but ruins everything between them. Is killed as a result.
- Emily - Feisty, possessive bitchy girl. Seems like a total wuss, has surprising strength of character to overcome odds to survive alone. Ultimately is very much a self preservationist.
- Jess - Sexy/bimbo fesity kinda' bitchy girl. Depends on guys to save her and protect her, can't save herself. Dies.
- Josh - Mentally disturbed, schizophrenic basket case type. Turns out to be a bit of a sociopath.
- Matt - Somewhat Jock type. Wants to be cool to everyone and do the right thing, but ultimately won't go the extra mile to save others. Survives.
- Mike - Doucheb@g who turns out to have stronger character than at first though. Turns out mega heroic bad@ss, makes the ultimate sacrifice to save friends (Parker in Alien).
- Sam - Decent lead girl type. Level headed, cares about others, trying to do the right thing. Ultimately allows a friend to sacrifice himself rather than save him, so she can live.

Now, I expect that Clown Mask being Josh is always the case. Him being a sociopath who stages the Clown Mask, I think it will always be like that. I think the story of Beth dying right away and Hannah eating her to survive then becoming a Wendigo will always be the case too. I hope the ending of Josh as a Wendigo is not always the case, I hope he can just die just like anyone else. I have a feeling that that is a constant though. Don't spoil it for me though please. I would like to see for myself.
