Feron's medicine
Does anyone know what disease Feron is suffering from? And what "medicine" is Grimaud giving to him? In episode 2, Feron seemed addicted to the stuff. Are both of these characters based in Hugo's novels?

shareI'm not sure that they specify what Feron's condition is (maybe it will be a plot device further into the series?) It seems to be some sort of bone disease. The 'medicine' is opium - it was used widely as a pharmaceutical (and still is, in the form of various opioids such as morphine).
