Question re season 1

Just finished season 1 and as cheesy as it is it's good entertainment. Most of the illogical, cheesy stuff didn't really bother me throughout the series, I mean, it's not meant to be a masterpiece but good fun (I hope). I wasn't even that much bothered Athos let Milady go even though she directly or indirectly is responsible for all those deaths and drama. It was in the spirit of the series and I assume necessary for the following seasons. What REALLY eludes me though is that moments after some 100 people died and lives of everyone were in danger in order to save Constance, she decides she can't leave her husband? Just like that. This is so ridiculous it almost makes me question whether to continue watching. Again, I understand that most of the show was unrealistic and I had no problems with it but am I really the only one who found this utterly retarded, even for a show like this one?
Sorry, I know this post makes no special sense but I just finished watching it and I am frustrated but have nobody to comment with so I turn to you :)

I'm unable to fully give a satisfying answer but I'll give is a brief shot.
At the time France was Roman Catholic and the Catholic church didn't allow people to divorce. This is the main reason England separated from the Roman Church and formed the Church of England. King Henry VIII needed an annulment from his marriage to Catherine of Aragon and the pope said no.

I know the history, that's not the point.
The point is- they are selectively either completely disrespectful of integrity, law and order or- on other occasions, very concerned about the principles of the state and the church and whatnot. And fine, it's good for the dynamics of the plot and as I said, I'm fine turning the blind eye to the fact that, for instance, when convenient for the story, a particular person is once going to retardedly sacrifice only to obey some sort of stupid protocol but then in the next scene shoot a woman in the head and not bat an eye. Most of these inconsistencies are justified by the spirit of the time and it somehow flies. But in those last 2 scenes, after everything has been solved, 100 people die ONLY in order to save Constance. No other reason. And the next scene is her husband crying and she decides she can't leave him. Yeah, she'd be in a messed up situation if she left him but how does that even remotely compare to all of the musketeers risking their lives for her + 100 other dead. That's just ridiculous, come on.
