What's the connection between the film and the book of the same name?

I read the book a few years ago and it has some major plot themes that are similar to what is in the film. But there's nothing about the filmn that says it was 'based on the works of' or 'inspired by the book by' the author John Harding.

Is there a connection?

I don't think there is. I know the book you mean as I read it a few years ago, I think it may just be a coincidence that the book & the film have the same name.
