Does anyone else think the portrayal of Scott Fisher was accurate? He comes off in the film as so laid back its hard to imagine him leading a team of mostly amateur climbers up Everest.
I read Krakauer's book and don't remember Fisher being portrayed this way (although obviously since Krakauer was on Halls team there wasn't as much about Fisher in the book).

No, the portrayal of Scott Fischer was the opposite of accurate. It was defamatory.
There was a thread about this last month, to which I replied with some details. You can see that thread at this link:
Scott Fischer deserved better than this cinematic character assassination.
Also, Scott's climbers were hardly amateurs, in the sense of inexperienced. Even the much-maligned Sandy Hill Pittman had plenty of experience on the high peaks, including two previous attempts on Everest, as well as successful summits of the other six of the "Seven Summits" (highest peaks on each continent).

Generally speaking, in my experience, people who give the film credit for being largely accurate go on to say, "... except for how they showed Scott Fischer."
I don't know anything about the real people, but I did like his line that if a person needs to be coddled while going up the mountain then they shouldn't be there. And based on the movie, that's basically what cost Rob his life. (If that part was accurate.)
