Changed in any way for the American release?

Does anybody know for certain if the American release will be a straight port of the original British release? I shudder at the idea of this being softened in any way for American release, knowing how possible it is that it will be.

Does everything have to be American?
Wasn't this in English enough???

He was just asking...

I just watched it On Demand and I doubt it was softened at all. It was pretty brutal. Which was fine. What, Americans can't handle violence and foul language etc.? I'm not sure why anyone would think they'd soften it for us. This is not excessive by our standards at all.

The copy on Movieberry wasn't softened. Softening the violence wasn't the problem (although Clockwork Orange-style in-your-face real-world violence of this sort is always too much for a large segment of the American moviegoing public, even people who normally don't shy away from R-rated fare) -- it was more a question of whether they'd change the tone/attitude/slang. (btw, I liked it so much that I bought the PAL DVD to play on my region-free player. It has closed captioning, and that helped me to pick up a lot of slang and cultural references that went right past me the first time.)

I believe in intelluhgint desine!
