Not even a 5 rating? More like a 6 or a 7. And I'm agnostic!

OK first of all, I'm agnostic, but I have been waiting years for a movie like this to be made... the Rapture is a fascinating issue for an horror film, and the movie has been made walking the tightrope between the unavoidable faith-related aspects (it's an horror film that departs from the premise that the Bible is right, and if it was fair in the hilarious "This is the End", it's fair here, where entertainment is first importance, and production values, casting, acting and direction are more than adequate) and the notion of making a real horror / drama / disaster movie that would trust their audience to "get" what they're doing. Never preachy, sometimes real scares and atmosphere over shock value, raiss this little film way over, say, any Saw or Final Destination film. As I say, I'm agnostic and thought this film was accesible for me, and never insulted my intelligence, and doesn't "convert" me into full christian mode, at all.

And yes, it's true that borrows from many films, but it does it in style, coherently, and while you can recognise gimmicks from films like "The Day after Tomorrow", "Cloverfield", "[rec]" and plenty of others, I always had the feeling that this "thefts" were done in style, with a personality on its own, and creating a refreshing little film that surpassed my way low expectations. I'm doubting between a 6 or a 7. In a good day, even an 8, for the originality of daring to play Rapture for serious, slipping aside the preaching.

I've got the feeling, too, that it is highly rewatchable, for boring afternoons / evenings.
