A Horror version of Left Behind?

So they took the concept of Left Behind (which is coming out a month later) and turned it into a found-footage horror movie? It seems like the only reason this is coming out is to make Left Behind seem stale when it hits theaters. (Although i have no intention of watching a "Christian" movie starring Nicolas Cage.

Basically, but I have a feeling that the Rapture isn't going to be sunshine and rainbows like it was technically was in the Left Behind Series (which was more political then scary). The ones left behind are going to be going through basic hell as the world goes through the rapture (if you believe what the bible says) so I would say this movie is probably going to be a little bit more "realistic" take on the rapture.

I'm watching it right now, and it seems a lot more interesting than Nicolas Cage's version. And for a bunch of semi-no name actors (I've only ever seen two of the main characters in anything), the acting's pretty decent.

I shall keep watching!

I agree 100%: this was a lot more interesting than Cage's version and made the Rapture actually look more wide-scale than the bigger budget Left Behind did.

Spoilers of Left Behind and The Remaining:
I really enjoyed it! I went in with a lot of apprehension after the horrible Left Behind movie. The storyline, the actors, the effects - well done! I cared about characters. I could relate to some of them. It was honestly a riveting movie. There was no happy ending because come on - it's about the apocalypse. I waited what felt like an eternity watching Left Behind for the rapture to happen and all I got from it were piles of clothes on the ground, some NFL wife on a plane freaking out because she thought her estranged husband took their daughter, a 20-something college girl wandering around a city coming to terms that she's screwed, and an obligatory "let's try to land the plane" ending.
