It's about time Christians made a good horror film.

Of course it was not this film.

I was looking forward to this film as I enjoy different takes on the end-times, but this one was not well done at all. I am really very curious if the writers even opened the book of Revelation before writing this film. I could live with the time table being messed up; traditionally the tribulation is to last 7 years and it seems like this one might have lasted 24 hours. I can live with the method of rapture; traditionally it is believed people are taken body and soul. What I cannot live with is the blatant twisting of scripture to raise the body count. Abaddon shows up in the film to torture and kill people. Sorry, not biblical. The creatures, according to Revelation 9 are permitted to torture, but not kill for 5 months. Also, the way the film depicts Christians being slaughtered by demons is not Biblical. The tribulation will be the Lord's last chance for people to come to Him, if he allowed the demons to kill people on the moment of conversion then there won't be many converts then will there?

I was not happy with the film at all. If you want to see a better Christian horror film check out HOUSE, or The Visitation. These are by no means great, but better that this one.

Is that what was happening? I was thinking while watching that the newly converted were killed and sent on to heaven but I couldn't figure out why they would die so violently. I was also thinking that if the demons were allowed to kill then the people remaining on earth weren't really given an incentive to come to God, nor the time. I get that awakening or strengthening faith would attract the demons and that torturing would be par for the course, but it would make zero sense for the demons to be allowed to kill the people trying to reach out to God.
