Another movie destroyed by bad soundmixing.

The dialog is super-low and the special effects are super high.
I actually had to enable the subtitles to be able to follow the conversations.

Comments like these are becoming so prevalent these days...it's a very disturbing trend (and an unprofessional one, too). And bad sound mixing shows up anywhere: it can be in big budget Hollywood blockbusters (Interstellar had dialogue that was barely audible at times); mid to low budget films such as this one; and even television shows now, too (2 recent examples I've noticed have been Agent Carter on ABC and The Bridge on FX--both had diaglogue I had to rerun in order to make out what was said).

This is as annoying as other recent silly trends in film-making, like color-correcting prints to make them all brown or blue looking, or over-reliance on flashbacks in storytelling.

Yup, I had to keep turning the volume up and down every few minutes. I'm fine with turning my volume up to hear the dialogue and just sit through the loud parts, but the sound fx in this one were crazy loud.

Youre as obvious as Quentin Tarantinos foot fetish.

We had to enable the subtitles as well, not so much due to the typical changes in volume (an annoying trend) but because the actors seemed to barely open their mouths when speaking. It was like "muh muh muh MUH muh muh" in about a quarter of the conversations.

I am trying to watch this, and having the same annoying issue. I live in an apartment complex and try to be conscience regarding noise. I think I'll try the subtitle idea before I finally give up. It seems like there might be some promise, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the advice.
