Castle Wolfenstein and Ultima

Favorite episode so far in this young season. I love the mention of those two games. Loved Castle Wolfenstein. I played Ultima III for hours on end. Fantastic game for Apple IIe. Loved those references. The answer machine plot was funny as well. I remember the stress of finding just the right message to use. Good episode and Erica of course looked hotter than hell as usual.

I almost forgot to mention that I love the continued war against the other Adam Goldberg. It is too funny.

I preferred Lode Runner on my C64. 

I loved the references too, but...

Prince of Persia came out in 1989. Ultima IV came out in 1985. They said they had Prince of Persia, which sets the episode in at least 1989, so having a four-year old game shouldn't be a big deal. In fact, Ultima V came out in 1988, a year before PoP.

Did you make "Field Marshal" on Castle Wolfenstein? I did it several times. Oh the agony of needing bullets but instead finding sauerkraut.
Beyond Castle Wolfenstein was OK but less fighting involved. Once you set off the alarms, you could sometimes fight your way out but were more likely doomed.

After looking more into this, I think I actually played Beyond more than the original. Because I do recall trying to kill Hitler. But I guess they were similar. I do remember "Halt" and "Come with me". Not words you wanted to hear.

I played Ultima. I use to play it on my NES.
