Why is this series so overlooked/underrated/ignored?
why is that? It's a really good show and I love the chemistry between the 2 leads

It's awful. I'm in America and can't see it until the season 2 dvd is released. Stephen is fantastic in season one. PBS is going to air the first season this June. I have no idea why it took so long. It's such a great show and I love Elise and Karl's friendship.

got addicted to this show like i wasnt in a long time with other one. saw the entire season 1 in 2 days and im starting the second one. it´s on top UK shows for me along with Broadchurch and 3 or 4 more shows.

Sadly because it's still deemed a remake of The Bridge, when in reality it's much more.

shareAt least for once I will appreciate PBS chopping and cutting. I couldn't get past the first episode. It's both graphic and has language.

It appeared when we were all well into Bron/Broen and had the US version as well. Also both this and the American remake slavishly followed season 1 of the Scandi original, including the "strange behaviour" of the female lead. The Bridge (US) wisely moved to its own story about the missing/murdered girls in Juarez and turned out to be a decent show.
The Tunnel was the poor relation and telling the same story 3 times is a bit of a bore, so it seemed doomed to be dropped.
It has taken another 3 years to produce a second season. I think everyone had forgotten about this show. It should be be advertised now, because "word of mouth" about season 2 is very very good.

I overlooked it because I was a Bridge/Broen loyalist. But I decided to watch series two and it turned out to be exceptional. At least the acting was. You need a PHD to discern the plot as usual.
