Worth Watching?

I have found this on Netflix and at the minute I am watching Prison Break, but I was wondering is this worth watching after Break or not?

If you're looking for an accurate historical drama then you probably won't like it. But if you're looking for a less serious show full of smutty drama, intrigue, and beautiful people it's really good.

I'm not bothered about if it's historically accuate or not, I'm just looking for entertainment. I love Mr Selfridge and im curious about Downton Abby

It is certainly more than worth it. Everybody has to harp harp harp about historical crap, that is so overblown. Documentaries can give you that. REIGN is a great show and the actors, location, stories, etc. are extraordinary. It is worth your time.

I'm looking forward to it

Get past the pilot. The pilot can be a little "wow, this is definitely a show made for 14 year old girls" but it picks up afterwards. Great show. Love it. It reminds me a lot of a watered down Tudors.

That aint no etch-a-sketch. This is one doodle that can't be undid, homeskillet.

Sounds like your mind is both open and open to it. Don't necessarily think the first show strictly has a vibe for 14 year olds, but do think it trended young. There are grown-ups and grown-up things in it too, especially the very impressive Catherine and quite interesting King Henry. I usually tell people to watch the original trailer of shows first, then the pilot if they like the trailer enough.

Downton is worth all of your time. You won't regret it!

As others have posted, it's not historically accurate. The writers are using historical characters and putting them in fictional situations, although they do stick to the most basic historical facts e.g. Mary growing up at French court, being married to the Dauphin, the religious tensions between Catholics and Protestants, etc.

If you like period dramas, definitely give it a watch. I would describe it as GOSSIP GIRL meets THE TUDORS with a smattering of GAME OF THRONES. Since it's on the CW, it's a much lighter version of those others show, but still has plenty of political intrigue and drama.
