The origins of rich and powerful royal or ordinary families...

are that they don't waste their resources and also they just pass on their wealth to their next generation who in turn also pass it on.

Let's say, generation 1:

A poor family, saved up only to buy a house and a small land. Instead of wasting their money buying a new house, they upgrade that house.

Generation 2:

That poor family is still poor, but now that their house is much larger and comfortable, they then begin to expand their land and land use. This slowly gives them more income.

Generation 3:

The poor family becomes more "richer", they then marry another family which had followed this process. They combine their resources and wealth to expand more of their land and wealth.

Generation 4:

The families become very rich, they hire poor people or even poor families to work for them, and charge them 10% of their harvest, in order to live on their now expanded family property.

Generation 5 and beyond:

Because the rich families are now rich and large, they divide themselves into several organise groups, from their respective "Houses".



This technique is also used by most real rich families in order to maintain their wealth status.
