sharecalling out everybody an idiot makes you what, especially with your first name. You must be one of these dumb believers that war on drugs helps resolve the problem, 45 years of trying that plus the experience from alcohol prohibition sure prove the contrary, but as long as enough people high up fill their pockets with it why try something different? I thought the human race should have learnt to learn from their mistakes, but no.

The drug war is the lesser of two evils. If you really think drug lords would be kind gentle souls if drugs were legal, you are one naive son of a bitch. Pablo and his crew were serial killers long before the Colombian and U.S. governments knew Pablo was in the cocaine business.

And just like any despot who though he had grown powerful enough to stand against US interests (like Saddam, Gaddafi, etc), Escobar thought he had enough power and money so he did not need CIA anymore to distribute his drugs.
But it wasn't his drugs to start with, but CIA's. He was just the handler, a part he did not understand until the end. Because as soon as they killed him, they put another one in his place to run the business. You seriously don't think CIA will let some 3rd world gangsters manage a multi billion dollar business in US AND keep all the profits for themselves, do you?

Fantasies for some reality for others. Thing is these facts are easy to find in the very extensive US's own archives. Again, if you think US would let some gangsters make $billions (many many many $billions) right in front of their eyes and do nothing or not demand their share (just as they did with Talibans) then you might want to take another look at what is fantasy and what is reality.

As if the USA was this powerful. I think it is nice that some people tend to believe what the allmighty US of A is "claiming" but hardly half of it is true. Besides that, USA was only one of the markets.
