New season really necessary? (SPOILER)

I just don't really see how they will succeed with another season or two. Pablo is dead, going after the Cali's won't be half as interesting. I'm going to watch it probably, these two seasons were just too good not to give it another chance, but i don't know man..

I feel like it's going be the same as what happened with Homeland. They built a show on basically one character and when that story line was over, it just wasn't the same anymore. Yeah, it's a quality show and everything, but nowhere near as good.

Absolutely a new season is required.. In fact it can run up to the present day.. We have yet to hear the story of where the coke ended up.. After Pablo delivered tons of it to Bill Clinton and George Bush in Arkansa via Nicaragua.. The murders which happened thereafter have yet to be properly investigated.. Although a natural plot thread..I somehow think the show will gloss over this fact in true CNN style..

I think they should focus on Imelda Marcos next, then move on to the Mexican drug cartel war, Zetas, El Chapo, etc.

reply

Marcos is the former first lady of the Philippines. Although she's as crooked as they come, I'm not sure her story would fit in with the theme of the show.

She's a thief, plunderer and likely ordered at least one assassination in her day but not generally believed to have been a drug trafficker.

Absolutely disagree with that. I´m more intersted in the Cali Cartell, and hopefully later EL Chapo, than I was in Pablo.
Most of us already knew who he was and what happened to him.

...but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

reply

We know what happened to the Calis too. Now the Mexican Zetas and Sinolohas are a different story..

reply

Yes it is necessary, Pablo Escobar story is only one chapter in a very long Saga.

reply

I'm willing to give it a shot. The Calis are a different kettle of fish altogether; more slick and swish, IYSWIM. I'd like to know more about how they run their business and the connections they have. And as another poster said, there is still a LOT of the story as a whole to go. I too hope it doesn't become another Homeland - fingers crossed!
