Immoral takedown of Escobar

In the end what do you guys think about the way they killed Pablo? The Americans and Colombians basically cooperated with the Costanos who went on to kill thousands more after los pepe, they kept Escobars family as a bargaining chip, allowed the killing of civilians by not acting upon the death squad los pepe etc..

In many ways they had to become the devil they sought to fight which at the end of the day taints any victory they got from killing Escobar.

I am disappointed in how it went down, but damn did it not make for excellent TV or what? Pablos squad being picked apart by Los pepe, intel gathered by Americans and Colombians using their military to cage him.

reply

Yes I started to dislike Pena when he began leaking info to a death squad and the americans in charge trying to get other countries to refuse refuge to the family. And then they still had the audacity to hold the moral high ground.

reply

Damn right he had the moral high ground. Escobar and those that surrounded him; family and Sicarios were the scum of the Earth. What is wrong with you weak people.

reply

Damn right, Escobar was a lot more psychopathic than Narcos portrayed.

It's almost certain if the Search Bloc didn't kill him, he'd have continued going after cops, judges and their families from prison.

reply

Agree completely, when Pena called them in to get Velasco I was like really? Really Pena.. I disliked him from that point onwards. He pretty much became one of them, moral outrage when he saw the lawyers kid dead was dumb.. What did he really think was going to happen..

reply

Pablo was a mass murderer and a terrorist, he deserved to die.locking him in prison for so called djustice is way to risky.

As for Pena please try to place yourself in his position I know its hard because we all have boring deskjobs. But he did what he thought was necessary at that time to take him down

And yes they won the battle but not the war. Untill this day not much has changed in Colombia and as a matter of fact Mexico has now become the new colombia, surpassing Colombia with mass killing for drugs

Mexico has become like the OLD Colombia, and if you think not much has changed in Colombia to this day, then you're pretty ignorant!

Ok sonin the safety of wherever you are you can have academic high minded discussions. But how would you do it?

How do you think a man and his people who see others as toys or garbage- people who do things
to other humans that you can't understand even when you see it- How do you stop it without taking it to them and hunting them down like dogs? Chat
Over coffee? Ignore it?

You may not lime how these problems are solved but the second you or a lived one are in the middle of it you will be glad the people willing to stop these animals exist.

The difference being when it is over we stop. They just find more people to do unspeakable things to- somwhat is your Solution?

reply

I've figured you out, TriggerPuller. You feel guilty for all the pointless "wars" you've fought and the innocent lives you've taken, so you're trying very desperately (and pathetically) to justify your actions to a bunch of people on a message board who really don't give a sh!t. You're not getting off that easy, buddy. You will live and die with your guilt.

reply

Sending in a death squad was necessary? Like it or not the cops play by different rules than the criminals.

reply

This kind of ignorance never ceases to amaze me no matter how often I hear it. There are not good guys or bad guys. It's simply a game and there are only players. No good and no bad. You either win or you lose. It would be extremely naive to think that law enforcement goes into this game truly believing they're going to play by the rules while the guys they're going after don't. The law enforcement officers who get selected for these positions are selected for a reason, that reason being they won't let their morals get in the way of them winning the game.

reply

Weak lilied liberals can continue yo pussify the planet. An eye for an eye. Isn't that what the fictitious Bible says.

reply

Well , imprisoning Pablo was a non starter, for one thing in reality he kept gunning down cops, judges and politicians.

I can imagine the Search Bloc would have been thinking if he lived he would go after them and their families as he'd done before.

reply

to paraphrase a famous quote: "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". I can't think of the sharing of intel to close in on Pablo as immoral.
Pablo had options, no immorality in killing him.
was the hunt for hitler immoral, collaborating with the Russians as we did?

reply

Almost whatever gets the job done. As long as no one innocent gets hurt. Although that can't always be a guarantee.
