Let's review shall we:

-Eliminate the Colombian cartels = rise of Mexican cartels and a monstrous war which has claimed the lives of 160,000 people since 2006.

- Train and fund the Mujaheddin in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets = giving rise to the Taliban and Al Queda, as well as Wahhabism worldwide.

- Overthrow Mossadegh in Iran = guarantee backlash which topples the Shah's government and hands the country over to Khomeini 26 years later.

- Push for an increase of American advisors in Southeast Asia in the 50s and set up the gulf of Tonkin myth in order to stop the spread of communism in Vietnam = the biggest foreign policy disaster in U.S. history, deaths of millions of innocents in Vietnam, as well as the deaths and crippling of half a million American kids.

- Saddam has yellow cake uranium = a region in chaos, the rise of ISI which later becomes ISIS and an increase of Russian and Iranian influence and power in one of the most strategically important regions in the world.

And those are just the ones I can think of right now.

I think I finally figured out the CIA's problem. These clowns don't know what the word "interest" means.

Maybe I'm being too hard on the company. As they say, the more successful a clandestine organization is, the less you know of it's accomplishments.

The again, who the hell doesn't know about these guys?

You forgot one of the first and worst "long term strategies"

- leave Japan in the hands of nationalist war criminals and the mob, and prop up their economy from 3rd world to 1st world levels by technology transfers and trade agreements = give a nation of people who think they're racially superior to anyone and naturally chosen to rule the whole world the technological potential and financial prowess to build nukes.
