Anyone else not all that excited for later seasons?

I guess season 3 will be about the Cali Cartel and Pablo's widow selling herself into prostitution or something, but...does anyone even care anymore without Escobar? He was the face of this show. And nothing that happened after his death will has been as sensational or well documented, so it will be even more fictionalized than usual. I can't imagine this show pulling a Game of Thrones, in that no matter how many Big Bads they kill it still keeps going, stronger than ever.

Haven't finished season 2 yet but Pablo is my favorite part of the show so yeah I'm not all that excited for future seasons. I'm sure it'll still be well done tho

The name of the show is "Narcos" not "Pablo Escobar" neither "Medellin". It's story follows not just the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar, but of the whole Colombian drug empire.

reply

Well, that changes everything! Thank you for pointing that out! Now I'm excited again! /sarcasm

Nobody cares what its called. It has no bearing on the fact that Pablo MADE the show for nearly everyone who watched it. Nobody knew the Cali cartel even existed, but everyone knew Pablo Escobar, hence flocked to watch the show about HIM. Your grade school logic lesson will not get me to tune in again.

I'm finding difficult to get interested in the next season as well. I know the show was never supposed to be about Pablo Escobar. But he's the one we know. And Wagner Moura did an amazing job with the role. I'd love to watch him again.

I might come back to it at some point but I think the end of Season Two was the climax I needed in the story.

That's the good thing about netflix though, no? I can watch when I want.

The Force Awakens was great, and I am very excited about Episodes VIII and IX!

Remains to be seen with Narcos, but I am cautiously optimistic. I hope they transition to the Mexican cartels after a while, I think that could reinvigorate the show nicely cause yeah, the Cali cartel just doesn't feel as exciting as Escobar.

Do you even know what honor is?
- A horse.

I know how you feel. Wagner Moura is definitely the best thing about the show. If the producers are smart, which I'm sure they are; they will keep showing Pablo in forms of flashbacks and back stories that tie in to the beginning of the Cali Cartel. This can be easily done and we could still get fresh Pablo footage without affecting his death.

If they completely cut him out, they won't see the same success as before, and fans will be disappointed. I hope they do the right thing.

The fact that you don't know about the Cali Cartel doesn't mean it wasn't interesting; it was in fact very interesting, and their story extends to the 90s and 2000s after an offshoot from their enforcer squads separate from them. It is the classical mafia style story of betrayal.
But I understand what you mean, Pablo is like a figure of excess and a monster, the Cali Cartel series would have to focus on some of the hinchmen you might not know but are as bad if not worse than Pablo, like a guy nicknamed Jabon, he was a bad, bad man.
Oh and almost forgot to mention, the paramilitary leader you see in the second season, Carlos Castano, very closely tied to drug traficking, that guy was probably a small scale Hitler, and he was crazy as hell, his own brother killed him because he was getting out of hand.
