I'm not sure if Judy was a real person or not. I think it's odd that Blanca isn't even mentioned once in the series but was rumored to have had an affair with Escobar. Unlike Judy, Blanca was never apprehended by the authorities. So if Judy is a fictional character, is she she the series nod to the real Blanca?
shareI don't know if she is but Valeria, the reporter who has the affair with Pablo is based on a real lady. My moms Colombian and remembers her. She wrote books about her time with Pablo. My mom (also a fan of the show though she gets emotional watching it at times cuz she grew up around all that *beep* said she thinks they killed her off to intentionally keep people from wondering if she was still alive and giving her money when they bought her books.
My mom has a lot of scorn for her and other people who built their careers off of the narcos.
judy is not based on anyone. that person never existed, the writers just added her for dramatic purposes
shareJudy Moncado was not a "fictional character", but a real life player in the alliance of the cartels. Griselda Blanca was obviously a different person, but the writers may have enhanced Judy's character with elements from Blanca. I'm not sure why some people think some of the main characters in this true life series were made up, the truth is stranger than fiction. Excellent series.
