Why they have to make it darker for??!?

It was fine how it was in season 1, the light comedy and up beat vibe was what sold it for me. By making it darker they are got rid of what made it unique and are now competing with shows like game of thrones and vikings, which this show cannot really do.

I still enjoy it, but I hope they bring back the funny upbeat vibe ASAP.
anybody else agree?

I kind of disagree, I liked it back when it was lighter and more comedic. But I'm completely sold on this darker and more complicated season. Everything feels so much more serious, the stakes feel higher, the acting's gotten better etc.

I grant you, I hope we get lighter episodes as well, as to much can damages the effect of the tone. But I'm okay.

Besides I don't think its automatically competing, its not as dark as Game of Thrones (which really has pretty much no lightness what so ever) we still get comedic and sweet moments, Mark Addy is still good for a few laughs each episode. But I like the seriousness.

I think its all for the best, I'm sorry you no longer enjoy it. But really I'm sold.

I didnt say i don't still enjoy it, but i enjoyed it much more when they had the original style. I like gritty, dark TV...but this particular show was much better suited as a lighter production

I understand, sometimes shows make changes that you can't wonder what they were thinking, and sometimes they make changes that make you want to give them a standing ovation. Sadly those opinions are rarely universally shared.

I agree, and sometimes it sounded pretty high school as well, such as Pasiphae telling Ariadne that Jason likes Medea better. Such a soap opera at times.
