I don't know for sure... I think I heard or read somewhere that Jason might have "lost" his contemporary knowledge, and anything he knew from his days in "our" time. In other words, he may no longer remember anything that WE take for granted.
shareI think he knew but was living in the world he was in, he most definitely knew who Pythagoras was and even commented that one day the would be the headache of students (paraphrasing) but he only had tools that were available to him at the time. To make the story work Jason just had to be like everyone else in Atlantis.
shareI'm still finishing watching season 1 but the big problem with this show is he COMPLETELY has forgotten he's from another time/world/whatever. He doesn't use our slang or anything and barely seems puzzled by their ways. It's like he's always been there and segued right into superhero mode.
