Just started this last night, but did I miss an episode, but when did Jason suddenly go all gung-ho and manage to acquire his knife dodging and acrobatic skills?

Yeah I used to love dying, but that speech really turned me around.

I just found this show recently on hulu and I'm very confused as well. It's as if he's not from the future or alternate universe at all. I'm not familiar with European accents and dialect... but Jason even talks exactly like everyone else.
