Hear me out. That'd be the hugest rug-pull ever. There's always been the debate as to whether or not he's alive. I don't care for that, but it's out there so much it almost seems inevitable. Think of what a shock it would be to see him and reveal he's alive, but it's in the opening scene, and we all know what that means. So then someone, one of his followers or something, offs him, then they're the killer for 7.

They are going to have to establish where he has been all this time and why there wasn't a public trial covered during the other films. To do all of that, I would be surprised if they kill him off that early, but it isn't the worst idea!
