A 5.1 rating? Really?

I understand that this film isn't everyone's cup of tea, and while I enjoyed this film, I wasn't sure that A LOT of others disliked it that much.

I'm surprised the rating is as high as it is. I was expecting a 3.

reply

A 3 is about what I would give it. I thought the McCarthy bashers were probably saying it was worse than it actually was but it was actually that bad. I watched the whole thing falling asleep twice. I did go back and watch from when I fell asleep, I don't know why. I probably walk out at the theatre before it's over and I never do that.

reply

Yeah, I thought it was really awful.

reply

Okay, so you two thought it was bad. But seriously, I didn't think the average rating would be this low.

What surprises me is that they went with an R rating but then didn't take it to the edge like they could have.

reply

I gave it a 7. It was a funny movie.

reply

I would have given it a 7 or 8.
Rarely does a movie make me laugh out loud, and this one did several times.

The street fight with the girls was hilarious.
'Girl Scouts' punching each other in the *beep*
That's good comedy.

This is one of those weird ones on imdb that get flamed for no reason really. McCarthy seems to really polarize people. I neither particularly like nor hate her despite really not liking Spy or Identity Thief, so went into the movie with zero expectations except seeing half a trailer that seemed funny enough. Came out of there having had a good laugh along with the other theater goers and noted it a 7/10. Guess I wasn't expecting much so came out of there quite happy with the entertainment level.
