Beautiful show
Very compelling.
First few episodes are very confusing, and I ended up wondering what was going on a couple of occasions during the show. This series is a really slow burn. Much more questions are raised than answers given for long periods. But stick with it, it get's better. Also just when you think they lose the plot, they pull it back.
Season 3 had a beautiful ending.
This series is short. But Damon Lindelof intended it only as 3 seasons. He and his team did a fantastic job. Christopher Eccleston as Matt was the stand out for me. That said, Justin Theroux as Kevin and Carrie Coon as Nora, were both terrific.
Only gripes I had were some of the music choices. Terrible and loud in a couple of instances. Also, there's one episode toward the end of season 3 I thought they could've done without. There was also animal cruelty, which I did not like at all. Having said that, the music composed by Max Richter for the show is some of the most beautiful music, I have ever heard.
This show is definitely not for everyone. And kids should not watch it.
However, to summarize:
This series is about loss, grief and coping. But it is also about family and appreciating those who you still have, despite whom you have lost.
It's a brilliant show, and fully deserves it's IMDB rating.
