What the hell?

Wasted time spent on characters noone cares about. Janelle, Sasha, Furcats assistant (do we really care about his fetish for watching)?

How about more on Helen, Cole, Noah, and who killed Allison? I bet they will tie this whole confusing season, in the very last episode of the series.
They had Noah run up and down the stairs TWICE to plant props in Sashas bedroom. Really? So lame. Just so lame.
Loved the show the first 3 seasons. After the french lady, and Noah having delusions after prison, it was downhill. But I will keep watching till the bitter end. Im loyal that way.

your are correct. I would rather see more than 5 minutes of joanie's story each episode. but too late to stop now.

I also thought Joanie was 25 years in the future, but since Coles tombstone said 1953 that makes it 35b years in the future making Janie almost 40. Its just a strange way to tell the story. Her throwing away Gabrielles things, along with her mothers pictures was so odd as well.

The first three seasons are the best, but if you are going to commit, you must watch it all, lol

I think she is haunted by the past and is trying to start fresh. don't think it is going to happen. yes, the actual dates of the timelines are hard to figure out. in the last episode Noah says it has taken him ten years to write his book and get it made into a movie. the first season aired in 2014 and if we use that as the starting point it would be 2014 in their present time. Joanie would be around 8 (born in 2005/6) so in 2053 she would be 49. She said that she is the same age as Allison when she died. which I thought was around 38. of course the starting point of the original story is not specifically stated and I don't think they ever reference any actual historical events to put a set time on it. but Cole is listed as being born in 1979. was he the same age as Allison? if so, I think they had Gabriel when they were in their early 20's. he was 3-5 when he drowned so that would have happened around 2005. I had the impression that the series started around 5 or so years after that as it took a few years for Allison to leave Cole.

Wow thanks for the timeline.. makes some sense now, but the writers didnt count on someone like you to piece it together, lol!

I am using Whitney's age as a benchmark for the timeline. When the series began, she was 16. She is now 24. That's 8 years. So the series covers a wider timeline than the number of seasons. So if the series began in 2014, it is now 2022.

Although Noah says it took TEN years to write the book and get it made into a movie, those years began before the series started. Recall when they went out to Montauk, he said to Allison that he was doing research.

When we last saw Joannie, she was 6. If someone was born in 2016, then in 2053, that person would be 37. That seems close to Allison's age when she died.

I agree that it was silly, but at the same time, I find watching the show to be really interesting. Dashiell is not Furkat's assistant. He's pretty high powered person in his own right, owning galleries. BTW- you look in the dictionary under "Affected" and there is a picture of Furkat.

Whitney is an idiot. Also -- her "dress" was ridiculous. If I left the house alone dressed in a sex suit like that, I would expect my husband to divorce me the next day.

But for me the "takeaway" was that Noah is completely irredeemable.

I'm projecting into the future, but I can see Sierra just dumping the little baby on Helen to raise. I don't think Sasha will like that and they will break up.

Yes your timeline totally seems right. Yes, I will watch till the end, but was hoping for a different way of filming. Its so disruptive in a way.. The few minutes of Joanie at the end of the show, throwing out Gabrielles things, and her mothers photos..needed to be expanded. I think the writers want us to wonder throughout, but what it really does is disconnect us from the premise of the series..I never really cared for Allisons character, but still would want to see her and Cole mentioned more than they have. I think Joanie will find clues of her mothers death, 30 years later, but I think they will wait until the last episode for that, which is anti climatic.
