I agree. Locke is concerned that Bethany is 'fragile and unhappy'. Perhaps, but Locke did not make her that way and a one-time lay does not obligate him to her for life to ensure she is happy and has strength. That is the trouble with a mercy f$$$- it only occurs with basket cases and drama queens, neither of which are suitable partners. Seriously, does anyone think that having a child will actually be Bethany's 'chance for happiness'. No, she needs mental health counseling, and while we should help one another, all Locke can do by having any involvement with her is screw up his own life- now and in the future. She does not strike me as a fit mother.
