A powerhouse performance
This was a depiction of real life. No superheroes - CGI - exotic weapons. Instead a nervous 'lover' a heartbroken wife - a confused and upset son - and two workmates - one loyal - the other a 'frightened for his own job' type.
However the film- although downbeat most of the way - did end on a more optimistic note - he laid his new foundations - literally in both his job and private life - and the cries of the newborn told him there was hope for the future.
His lonely one night stand partner sounded a better bet than his wife who had almost instantly rejected him.
All the actors were magnificent with the whole film being a welcome breath of fresh air from the saturation of fantasy - gangster - animation and films where people just blow each other up.
