Two things that really rubbed me the wrong way

It reeked of just keeping them lit up for movie fx purposes. All the other power was out in the house (*beep*, they were using kerosene lamps) but all the wall panels were hanging out only half smashed but still functioning with power.

Stupid movie for the most part.

This whole movie annoyed the ever living daylights out of me.

That's clearly a new construction house. They don't run wiring diagonally 1 inch below the drywall. Most likely in that sort of house it would have been installed in conduit.

There were just too many different completely inaccurate 'technology' issues with this movie.

But you're right, you can't fly a jet and be a complete moron at home -- in a house built with embedded technology that you would have had to know.

And instead of pulling the wires through the wall why not go to the central control point and turn it off?

Disable outside internet connection to the house -- one cord to cut and you could still maintain the use of your house.

Here is something; as soon as Ed Porter threatened to make planes fall out of the sky, Regan should have hauled his ass to the police and told them the whole story. Porter said he was former NSA so the cops would have contacted feds right away.
The threat of terrorism by someone with the skills to pull it off would not have been dismissed. They would have investigated the guy, searched his residence, found all his monitoring equipment, etc.
But all Regan did was gut punch him a few times.

Also, wasn't he supposed to be a billionaire? Those guys have access to serious security people who can handle threats. Anyone given that much access to his life would have been thoroughly checked out first.

then Regan told the fixer that he wanted to do things himself because hiring someone else was what got him into this mess. ???
Not background checking Porter was what got him into the mess.

I hate these movies where they make characters make really stupid choices that any sane person would not make.

That's the only problem I had with this movie. Just cut the power. They showed them using the fireplace (so I'm assuming they eventually cut all the power anyways )

at least the daughter rubbed herself the right way
