Where is the silent assassin part? u know the part the games are about?

I hate people who makes this kinds of movies because they initially get our hopes up only to smack them right back down with this hollywood action bieber crap.. well it will probably be a good action movie but like the "doom" movie it rapes the game in an unspeakable manner.. just like the previous movie.. it might have some cool scenes (as did the other hitman movie and the fps sequence in the doom movie was a nice touch)
But i digress..
The silent assassin part..
This movie seem to be about action and epic skill-moves which is fine.. but the games were about the perfect execution, epic timings and very sneaky, silent, ninja planning..
you know seeing the big picture knowing the layout and not getting busted and shooting the whole place up (without loading and doing it right afterwards :D)
I see on the other posts that i'm not the only one feeling this way..
We should set a request in motion for a HITMAN SILENT ASSASSIN movie!!!

Oh and that movie should have David Bateson playing hitman!!! All the way bros.. All the way!!!

Amen. Rupert Friend ain't no joke though, he's straight badass. Check Homeland.

David Bateson is too old for the part. Even back in 2000 when the first game came out he was pushing the high end of the age range for the character; it's 15 years later he just looks like an old man now

Had they made this 15 years ago he'd have been ok for it

You have to realize the pictures of David Bateson that they used to design the hitman character are now almost two decades old, and he wasn't all that young at the time

David Bateson is 55 years old, the character was designed based on David Bateson in his 30's. By the time the first game was released he was 40.

While I agree, I'm also holding out some hope since all we saw was a two minute trailer

Some people like to play the game guns blazing Rambo style, instead of using stealth like they should. looks like that is what this film is going for.

I loved the game, and I loved the Tim O. Movie that came out in, what, 2004? 2007? (Somewhere in there).

I agree that this movie doesn't look up to par. But I'm trying to learn to be more optimistic and acceptive of this umpteenth reincarnation phase Hollywood has been in in the last decade or two: so many sequels and remakes!

I'm not a big fan of the Spock/Heroes guy. I find him...unimpressive. But when this comes out on dvd, we'll most likely rent it, just like we rent everything else, and I'm going to try to watch this while pretending it has nothing to do with the franchise. Because it doesn't look or sound like the franchise. So let's just pretend they're not related and see if it's simply a decent movie or not.

Yeah I agree, the trailer looks like a typical Hollywood action flick. If it weren't for the title, I wouldn't guess it was a Hitman movie. Obviously Hollywood will never capture the true precise nature of Agent 47.

Luckily the new Hitman game coming out later this year looks and sounds amazing. The developers have designed it like a real life contract killing system, where players are getting new contracts with each update(not sure if it's weekly or monthly or even sooner) and you only have one opportunity to eliminate your target. And that is everything I've ever wanted from a Hitman game, so at least there is some hope in the game medium of Hitman.

Besides all the action... could they at least get an actor that resembles 47 for once?

reply

A lot more goes into casting than looks...Paul Walker died in November and shooting was to started February...that's not a lot of time to find a replacement....TO didn't want to do another hitman and maybe JS wasn't available...homeland shoots in June which made Rupert Friend available and the fact he plays a similar type character probably made him the best choice

Life is pain, princess. . . anyone who says differently is selling something.

It's more like Hitman: The Contradict

I was planning to go to the theaters to see this movie but you know what? I will not give them ANY money because I saw the trailer and I realized it was not Hitman, it's a movie based on Call of duty!
I think the last movie (2007) was more stealthy than this!
